In everyday things we do, the government apparently collects our data through the it. Our internet usage can be monitoried, our dining and shopping habits are observed or analyzed, and these may eventually used as evidence against us in court.
These data collection is initiated by companies whose big businesses we encounter, avail and make use of daily. CNBC takes a deeper look into how our personal infomation may be compromised when we do this by presenting stories of average people who have been victims of identity theft, illegal surveillance, mistaken identity, among others. The documentary also presents how the FBI, the police, and even schools use biometric technologies to peek into an individual’s identity.
Big Brother, Big Business also takes a look at a special division of AOL that was set up purposely to deliver requests from the law enforcement with certain cases involving AOL members.
